Alright all you sexy singles! We are planning a night that you don't want to miss!
Call it a Speed Dating Event but it's truly more than that! Call it Speed Dating 2.0 or Call it Speed Dating on steroids! Doors will open at 6:00 PM for check in and table assignments! The Speed Dating itself will begin promptly at 7:00 PM and check in at the front door will close about 6:30-6:45 so please, don't be fashionably late!

There will be great music from a DJ Connection spinning some tunes so you can get your groove on as well as an amazing professional photographer, Natalie with British Touch Photography, with all her fun photo booth props! Natalie will be on hand to get those great activity pics! We have some fun activities planned for the after party!

There will also be a ticket raffle going on throughout the night with great prizes donated by local businesses and 2 Vacation Discount Certificates to Antigua, the Pineapple Beach Club & Galley Bay Resort & Spa, for details see below! Best of all the raffle proceeds will benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Okaloosa and Walton Counties. You will receive one raffle ticket per entry ticket with the option to purchase additional raffle tickets at the event.
This is going to be a fun event and a chance to meet some really great people! The speed dating portion will last approximately one hour but you are going to want to stick around for a fantastic after-party and to win YOUR raffle prizes!!
If you haven't already joined Michelle Minton's facebook Group Singles on the Emerald Coast click here and request to join! It is a fantastic group of singles and I help admin in the group with dating advice and tons of new content every day! This event was requested by the group but is now open to the public! The only requirements to join the facebook group is that you live in the Emerald Coast area, you are single, divorced or widowed and you MUST answer the questions before your request to join will be granted!
Speed Dating Details
Let me start with my number one rule for speed dating. No contact information will be exchanged at the actual event. This helps to cut down on the fear of rejection and helps keep the awkwardness factor low. Don’t worry, if you meet someone and you hit it off during the event, an introduction will be made and contact information will be exchanged within 24 hours!
For the actual speed dating everyone is seated according to age range. The first mini date begins when the timer is started. Mini dates typically last between 3-5 minutes depending on the number of people registered for the event. Once the time is up, I instruct the gentlemen to move on to the next table.
We will be using an app at the event that does the actual matching! Each participant will log into the app during the event and mark yes or no to the people they would like to meet for a real date. If both parties say they would like a date together they will be notified by the app and contact information is exchanged within 24 hours and sometimes even sooner!
The best part about this event is that even if you don’t end up on a mini speed date with someone that has piqued your interest from across the room, you will still have an opportunity to be matched with that person during the after-party by marking yes or no on the app even after the actual speed dating part is over for the night as we move into the after-party!

"What questions do we ask during the mini dates?"
I am planning to make this easy for you singles so you don’t have to feel nervous and/or shy! As a Relationship Expert and trained Gottman Leader, I will be providing questions from The Gottman Institute that have been scientifically proven to help build strong relationships! Building a connection with someone is much easier when you actually know what questions to ask!
Of course, participants are encouraged to ask their own questions BUT I do encourage people to stay away from asking questions about past relationships, religion, and politics! Stay away from these hot potatoes in efforts to enjoy the evening ;)
Questions to Avoid
- Anything too personal, including their address
- Anything too clichéd, especially, "So, what do you do?" If the question is allowed, everyone else will have already asked it, and some people find it rude, as though you're more interested in their status than in who they are as a person.
- Questions about salary or economic background
- Questions about past relationships
Dress Code
Dress code for the Speed Dating Event is the same as if you are going on a first date! We want each person that attends to feel comfortable yet still be able to present their very best version of their authentic self! I say “dress to impress” but do not choose an outfit that you feel awkward or uncomfortable in. A suit and tie may be a bit much for an event like this but think first date outfits, what outfit makes you feel confident?

Where to Stay?
We are expecting many of our Pensacola and Panama City friends from the Singles on the Emerald Coast facebook group to join us! We recommend you get a room for the evening at the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort. Bayside Hotel (At the resort) has rooms for $129. I understand military and first responders get a 15% discount! It is on the Bay side of the resort but they have a complimentary shuttle service to take you back and forth. Or check out some of the fantastic Abnb's in the Sandestin/Miramar Beach area! If you would be interested in splitting the cost and sharing a room comment below to see who else is looking! We do not encourage drinking and driving!

Volunteer Help Needed
- I will need at least 4 volunteers for the event day to work the front door!
- I will need at least 4 volunteers to arrive at 5 and set up the tables and chairs!
- I will need at least 4 volunteers to stay past 10:00 PM and help break down the tables and chairs!
- I will need one person from each county, Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton & Bay County to solicit more gift donations for the raffle!
